Poison Ivy - Avant-Garde Look

Creating a look from beginning to end is one of the many pleasures I derive from fashion. Pulling together different textures, colors, and silhouettes allow me a different level of self-expression that soothes my inner fashionista. Recently, I attended an Avant-Garde themed all-black gala and my immediate thought was flowers. Drawing on inspiration from fashion giants like Alexander McQueen and Oscar De La Renta’s Avant-Garde spring looks, I created my take on Poison Ivy.

I found this amazing flowered sheer 3D fabric, in the Garment District in NYC and added some boning to give it a corseted look. My dressmaker lined the inside of my dress with a cotton skirt to show off the vine details in the fabric and made my sleeves slightly puffier at the cuffs, for a romantic look. Check out all the details below.

To really bring together the Poison Ivy theme, my makeup artist, Chelsea, created a "green mask" using two different palettes and a wing liner. To amp the look she went for a berry/plum lipstick from NYX Cosmetics.

Lashes - Arsense ( this is one of my go-to brands!)

Lips- NYX Chubby Stick (Plum)

So no outfit is complete without fabulous and talk-worthy hair! A big shoutout to my stylist Monique, from BeyondFab Mo Hair Studios, for a fabulous install; and my bestie Sharde for turning my hair into this dreamy fishtail braid.

To complete the look I added some hair jewels, a few rings, these statement earrings from Asos, and a simple black pump.
